I found this mother moose keeping watch over her calf as they feed in a Rocky Mountain pond. It is always best to be cautious and to keep your distance from a mother moose and her young but I was able to observe this pair from a distance without disturbing them.
I captured this image with my Canon 7D and a Sigma 150-500mm lens.
